The HUG Project training workshop at the Seed of Hope in early November was a huge success! HUG project is under the Family Connection Foundation, the same foundation as the Seed of Hope, and exists to prevent, protect, and restore child victims of sexual abuse and human trafficking. Through close cooperation with the TICAC (Thailand Internet Crimes Against Children) task force and CACT (Children’s Advocacy Centers Thailand), HUG team members are working toward justice for those who harm children sexually, and healing for young survivors.
HUG Founder and Director, Boom Mosby, has been recognized by the US State Department as a 2017 Trafficking in Persons Hero and as a 2018 Vital Voices Global Leader in Human Rights for her work as a child victim advocate.
HUG project team members, along with police officers, came to the Seed of Hope to teach on these things along with the dangers of the internet and social media. We asked family members of our students to come and learn as well.
The turn out was astounding and one police officer reported to Boom, HUG founder, that it was the most family members/leaders that had ever attended one of these meeting and he was very encouraged by this.
We want to thank our donors for making this training workshop possible. Teaching the students about these things is so critical in this day and age, especially to our students who are vulnerable to the dangers of the internet and who live in a high-risk region known for human trafficking.
